I was referred to Tom by the person who was handling the estate of my recently departed dear wife. I already had a lifetime mortgage but was never actually certain weather the one I had was a good one or not. When Tom came to see me, he helped me understand the process in a way that the previous company never did. He took time to answer my questions and no question seemed unimportant to him but most of all he got me the amount of money I need it and a little bit in reserve in case of emergencies should I ever need to access it. The nicest surprise was that the interest rate on the new loan he arranged for me was better down the old one I have been living with for so many years. I wanted to thank and recommend Tom & his team at the Independent Equity Release Centre. We found moving house very stressful, especially due a change in our personal circumstances, and with ill health. It took 2 years to sell our property and find a suitable bungalow. We then discovered we weren’t eligible for a new mortgage. A big part of us downsizing was to enable us to get a smaller mortgage, so we were devastated and unsure how to proceed. I could not recommend the team here more. They got 2 self employed people (one with only a year’s books) a mortgage – I imagine not an easy task. Tom worked tirelessly and in a very tight deadline to keep our sellers happy, constantly pushing back on underwriters until we got what we needed. The team really went above and beyond what I would have expected keeping us up to date with all aspects. We were introduced to the Independent Equity Centre by family who have been dealing with Tom for years. We needed help understanding the lifetime mortgage process and they explained everything from how the rate is fixed for life, the early repayment penalties and they even explained how we could make payments if we wished and so on. Just want to say a massive thank you to Charlotte for sorting out our mortgage. Not only did she manage to get us a £200 a month saving with the same lender (!!!!) but she also managed to do it in record time. Given the difficulties with our property and our previous experiences elsewhere I can only say that this was a fantastic service. Charlotte was professional, clear, quick and very easy to deal with. When the lender succeeded in messing up the paperwork, Charlotte managed to get it sorted out in under 24 hours. We would have no hesitation in recommending her and Tom and have already suggested to family and friends that when they are looking to get a mortgage or re-mortgage then this should be the first port of call.
